Vladimir Petrovich Averin was a Soviet athlete and coach born on September 17, 1932, in Verkhnie Sergi, Ural Region, USSR. He was instrumental in organizing athletics sections in Sverdlovsk and served as the senior coach at the Olympic Reserve School No. 1. Over decades of coaching, he developed numerous athletes, including personal training for Olympic bronze medalist Vyacheslav Lyho. Averin was recognized as an Honored Coach of RSFSR and held a republican category judge title in athletics.
