Vladimir Barnachov is a retired Russian biathlete, born on February 26, 1951, in the Muromtsevsky District. He competed for the Soviet Union during the 1970s and 1980s. Notably, he participated in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, where he won a gold medal as part of the 4x7.5 km relay team, alongside teammates Aleksandr Tikhonov, Vladimir Alikin, and Anatoly Alyabyev. He also achieved three bronze medals at the Biathlon World Championships and has three national titles. After retiring, he worked as a coach for the Soviet, Croatian, and Russian national teams.
