Vladimir Grigorjevitš Degtjar, born on September 13, 1948, in the Orenburg region, is a prominent Russian rocket engineer and constructor. He graduated from Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute in 1972, specializing in aircraft engines. After graduation, he worked at the design bureau in Miass, which is now known as the Makeyev Rocket Design Bureau. Since 1998, he has served as the director and chief designer of the Makeev Rocket Center. Degtjar has contributed to the development of submarine ballistic missile systems and currently teaches at South Ural State University.
