Vladimir Gevorkian was an Armenian engineer, born on May 28, 1952, in Ashtarak, Armenian SSR. He completed secondary school in 1969 and graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University in 1975. Although he was part of the Soviet cosmonaut group, he never flew in space. He contributed to the Almaz orbital station project and later worked in various engineering roles, notably as chief designer at the MELAR scientific production complex. He passed away on April 13, 2008, due to brain cancer.
