Born on April 4, 1915, in Petrograd, he emigrated in 1920 and later completed his education in Belgrade. He served in various military capacities before moving to Germany and then Argentina after the war. Granitov became notable for designing three Orthodox churches and led the American branch of the Russian Corps Soldiers' Union. He also worked to support Russian émigré youth and was involved in writing and historical-patriotic associations.
