Vladimir Nikolaevich Gribkov (February 2, 1937 – December 11, 2006) was a specialist in aviation materials science. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering in 1959 and obtained a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree. Gribkov worked at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials, rising from junior researcher to laboratory head. He founded a scientific direction focusing on the production of fibrous crystals of refractory compounds and is best known for developing fibrous thermal protective tiles for the Buran spacecraft. He was awarded the State Prize of the USSR in 1987.
