Born on February 17, 1921, in Svilengrad to refugees from Thrace, he worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 1944, progressing through various roles in law enforcement until becoming the head of the Haskovo regional department, where he served until retirement in 1982. He was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Haskovo in 2015.
