Karpets held a Candidate of Sciences degree in law and served as an associate professor. He was also an accomplished writer, poet, translator, publicist, director, and screenwriter. Karpets was known for his Orthodox monarchist views. He passed away on January 27, 2017, in Moscow, Russia.
