Vladimir Pavlovich Maksakovsky (June 4, 1924 - January 12, 2015) was a Soviet and Russian geographer, economic geographer, and ethnographer. He was an academician of the Russian Academy of Education (1992) and earned his Doctorate in Geography in 1970, becoming a professor in 1971. A participant in the Great Patriotic War, he is best known for his series of textbooks on socio-economic geography of the world. He was awarded the Presidential Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of education in 1997.
