Vladimir S. Airapetian is an Armenian-American astrophysicist born on May 8, 1960, in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, USSR. He serves as a senior scientist in the heliophysics science division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and is a professor emeritus at Kyoto University in Japan. Additionally, he is a researcher professor at American University in Washington and a member of the Armenian Astronomical Society, contributing significantly to astrophysics. He obtained a PhD in astrophysics in 1989 and is a council member of the American Engineers Society of Armenia (AESA).
