He served as the principal percussionist for the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic. Surnachev was honored as a meritorious artist of the Russian Federation in 1993. His contributions to music and education in Russia are recognized in the field of classical music, demonstrating a prominent career in orchestral performance.
