Vladislav Martinek was a Czech forest entomologist born on January 17, 1926, in Dobruška. He specialized in forest entomology and the biology of forest pests, particularly sawflies, the spruce bark beetle, and spruce bark-miners. Martinek worked at the Research Institute of Forestry and Game Management from 1958, leading the scientific work in forest protection. From 1986 to 1989, he served as a researcher at a research station in Opočno. He published his research findings mainly in Czech scientific journals related to forestry and entomology.
