Vladislav Georgievich Petin was a Soviet and Russian biophysicist, born on December 29, 1939, in Stepnyak, Akmolinsk Region, Kazakh SSR. He specialized in radiation biophysics and biophysical ecology. Petin earned a Doctorate in Biological Sciences in 1983 and served as a professor. He was the head of the biophysical laboratory at the Medical Radiological Scientific Center and a professor in the Biology Department of the Obninsk Institute of Nuclear Energy. He passed away on October 25, 2022, in Obninsk, Kaluga Oblast, Russia.
