Vojteh Cestnik is a Slovenian veterinarian born on October 10, 1948, in Ljubljana. He graduated in 1974 from the Biotechnical Faculty and obtained his doctorate in 1984 at the Veterinary Faculty in Zagreb. In the academic year 1992/1993, he furthered his studies in Glasgow. He has been employed at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana since 1975 and has been a full professor since 1996. His research focuses on the physiology of domestic animals, and he has published over 50 scientific papers and more than 30 professional articles, along with several university textbooks.
