His notable works include series capturing genuine emotions of subjects contrary to the period's propaganda, depicting fears and uncertainties. Stanionis faced health challenges during his career and passed away on May 11, 1966, in Yalta. His legacy continued through his son, Vytautas V. Stanionis, who became a professional photographer.
