Waheed Omar, born in March 1978, is an Afghan politician currently serving as Senior Advisor to President Ghani and Director General of the Office of Public and Strategic Affairs. He was the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Italy from 2016 to 2019 and served as Afghanistan's Permanent Representative to multiple international organizations. Notably, he worked as the Chief Spokesperson for President Hamid Karzai from 2009 to 2011, where he showcased exceptional media-management skills and contributed significantly to Karzai’s reelection campaign.
