Walter Bigler is a Swiss lawyer, dialect researcher, writer, and cultural historian born on March 20, 1926. He grew up in a farming family in Oftringen, Aargau, and was raised as a foster child. Bigler was passionate about local dialects, traditional music, and the culture of his region. He served as the central president of the Aargau Jodler Association and has written several works on the dialects of western Aargau. He initially wrote a book in High German, but was encouraged to write in his dialect. The Swiss Radio featured a broadcast about him on April 11, 2013.
