Walter Eugene Boomer, born on September 22, 1938, is a retired four-star general and former Assistant Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. He led Marine operations during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Gulf War. After his military career, he served as Chairman and CEO of Rogers and retired in 2004. Boomer is also a graduate of Duke University, class of 1960, and later obtained a master's degree from American University.
