Walter Koch was a German sculptor born on June 9, 1910, in Pommerswitz, Silesia. He trained as a wood and stone sculptor before attending the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts from 1927 to 1934, where he studied under Karl Albiker. In 1934, he received the Great Hugo-Göpfert Prize, which included a one-year scholarship to study in Italy. After his return, he settled in Leverkusen. Post-1945, he focused on creating portrait busts in bronze and stone and contributed to public and architectural art. His works are found in various public and private collections.
