Walter Korun, born Pieter Marie Julien de Groof on May 16, 1931, in Mechelen, was a Belgian aviator general and literary critic associated with the Cobra movement. He became known in his youth as one of the Belgian agitators of the avant-garde art scene and was a member of the Situationist International from 1957 until his exclusion in 1959. Korun passed away on July 4, 2014, in Jette, a municipality in Brussels.
