Walter Morris Thomson (March 16, 1905 – January 5, 1952) was a British colonial official who served as the Secretary for Defence from 1950 to 1951. He joined the Hong Kong government in 1929 and held various positions, including magistrate and assistant supervisor. During the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, Thomson worked with the colonial supply liaison officers in the West Indies and was part of a planning team for post-war recovery. As Defence Secretary, he played a role in organizing militia conscription amid turbulent circumstances surrounding Hong Kong.
