Walter A. Netsch (1920–2008) was a prominent American architect, known for his association with the brutalist architectural style and his work with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. He developed a unique aesthetic known as Field Theory, which involved the manipulation of squares into intricate shapes. Netsch is best recognized for leading the design of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, particularly its iconic Cadet Chapel. In 2004, the Cadet Area of the Academy was designated a National Historic Landmark. He was also a fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
