Walter E. W. Ruckdeschel is a German archaeologist, environmental scientist, and entomologist born on September 10, 1937, in Munich. After completing his schooling in Icking, he studied mechanical engineering and later pursued archaeology, Egyptology, and ethnology, earning his doctorate in 1965. He is known for his research on early Bronze Age graves in southern Bavaria and the establishment of a pronounced chronology for that period. Ruckdeschel has also served as the president of the Bavarian State Office for Environmental Protection and the Munich Entomological Society.
