Walter Treser was a German engineer born on April 18, 1940, in Bad König (Odenwald) and passed away on November 13, 2021. He started his career as a race car driver and test manager at Pirelli. In 1976, he became the head of advance development for special vehicles at Audi and was the project leader and namesake of the Audi quattro. From 1980, he led Audi Sport, overseeing their rally program.
