Dr. Waqar Azmi, born on February 22, 1970, in Azamgarh, India, is the Chair of the charity 'Remembering Srebrenica' and was previously the Chief Diversity Adviser in the British Government from October 2004 to January 2009. His family migrated to London when he was 13. He graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 1993, and became CEO of TMP Worldwide Advertising and Communications and Monster.com in 2001. He holds honorary doctorates from the University of Worcester and Solent University, and was awarded an MBE in 2002 for his contributions.
