Henry Wardwell Howell was an American entrepreneur born on January 27, 1910, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. He founded Ward Howell Associates, Inc. in 1951, which became one of the first consulting firms focused exclusively on executive search, a process of finding and recruiting candidates for senior-level positions. Howell led the company from its inception until 1974, significantly contributing to the development of executive search as a professional service. He passed away on August 30, 1980, in Cooperstown, New York.
