Pol. Gen. Wasit Dētkunchǭn (November 14, 1929 - June 20, 2018) was a former royal police officer in Thailand, who was trusted by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He served as the Chief Royal Police, later becoming the Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police and an Assistant Minister of the Interior. A prominent police figure, he was also a novelist, writing crime-related fiction based on his real-life experiences. In recognition of his literary contributions, he was honored as a national artist in the field of literature in 1998.
