Wataru Iwatsume is a former Japanese rugby player. He was born on April 8, 1985, in Ibaraki Prefecture. He played as a prop (PR) and was nicknamed "Tsume". He started playing rugby in the sixth grade of elementary school. He joined Kubota Spears after graduating from Hosei University in 2008. He made his official debut in the second round of the Japan Rugby Top League on September 11, 2010, against NEC Green Rockets. He retired from Kubota Spears in 2018. He is currently working as a public relations officer for Kubota Spears Funabashi Tokyo Bay in JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE.
