Wil Vening, born Wilhelmina Catharina de Boer-de Groot, was a Dutch children's author and novelist. Born in Leeuwarden on May 17, 1924, she studied childcare and started her writing career in 1974, producing children's books and historical novels. A mother of three, she lived in Leeuwarden during WWII, where her father managed a power station. She passed away in Groningen on January 22, 2006, at the age of 81.
