William Gordon Pannill (1927-2014) was an American businessman and textile executive known for his contributions to horticulture, particularly in daffodil hybridizing. He created 210 new daffodil varieties, served as president of the American Daffodil Society and the American Horticultural Society, and founded the Horticulture Society of South Florida. Pannill received the Pannill Award, established in 1997, on three occasions for his innovative hybrid daffodils. A resident of Palm Beach, he passed away at his summer home in North Carolina.
