Major General Sir William Dudley Duncan Refshauge was an influential Australian soldier and public health administrator. He served as the Honorary Physician to Queen Elizabeth II from 1955 to 1964 and was the director-general of the Australian Government Department of Health from 1960 to 1973. Additionally, he held the position of secretary-general of the World Medical Association from 1973 to 1976. His contributions to public health and military service were noteworthy throughout his career.
