William Shaw Sheret MBE is a prominent Scottish showjumper and trainer born in Glasgow on 3 October 1928. He began riding at age 5 and competing by age 13. After serving in the British Army, he became a professional horseman and achieved notable success in showjumping, including winning the Daily Express Foxhunter Championship in 1975. Honored by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to showjumping, he also authored a book on his teaching philosophy in 2016. Widowed in 2009, he currently lives near Kintore, Aberdeenshire.
