Willy Peter Reese (January 22, 1921 – June 1944) was a German writer and soldier during World War II. He documented his experiences at the Eastern Front, later forming the basis for his literary manuscript, published posthumously as 'Mir selber seltsam fremd' in 2003. Reese was critical of Nazism and wrote several hundred poems, prose works, and letters during the war. He went missing in action near Vitebsk, Belarus, following the Soviet offensive in June 1944, and his writings were largely preserved by his cousin after his death.
