Wilson Lionel Garton-Jones (1922-2003) was an Indian professional English billiards player, known for his dominance in national championships, winning the world amateur championship twice (1958, 1964). An Anglo-Indian born in Pune, he was the first Indian to become a world champion in any sport. He earned multiple awards including the Arjuna, Padma Shri, and Dronacharya Awards for his contributions to billiards. After retiring from competition, he became a coach, mentoring several professional players before his death from a heart attack in 2003.
