He was part of the Windrush generation, moving to the UK and initially working as a fireman. In 1962, he achieved his role as a train driver, operating iconic locomotives like the Flying Scotsman. Later, he emigrated to Zambia to train others in driving. Jackson passed away on September 15, 2018, at the age of 91, and is commemorated with a blue plaque at King's Cross station.
