Wim Spit (1924-2013) was a prominent Dutch labor union leader. Educated at MULO and Handelsavondschool, he worked in Germany during WWII and later became an assistant accountant in Amsterdam. Spit held various roles in the Catholic Workers Movement, the Dutch Catholic Trade Union (NKV), and the FNV until his retirement. From 1973 to 1981, he served as chairman of NKV, where he facilitated its merger with the NVV, and was vice-chairman of FNV starting in 1976. He passed away at the age of 89.
