Winnie Ruth Judd (1905–1998) was a medical secretary in Phoenix, Arizona, infamous for the 'Trunk Murders' in 1931, where she murdered her friends Anne LeRoi and Sarah Samuelson. Judd transported their dismembered bodies by train, which led to her trial and conviction for LeRoi's murder. Although sentenced to death, her sentence was overturned due to mental incompetence, resulting in a long commitment to an asylum. She escaped multiple times and later lived under an alias before being paroled in 1971 and discharged in 1983.
