Winsford Devine, also known as Joker, was a prominent songwriter from Trinidad and Tobago, born on August 15, 1943. He is celebrated for composing over 500 calypsos during his career. Devine made significant contributions to the music of The Mighty Sparrow over a 17-year collaboration, writing numerous hits such as Slave and Marajhin. Notably, his composition Progress is regarded as one of the greatest calypsos in the genre's history. Devine passed away on June 22, 2021.
