Władysław Leon Honkisz was a Polish general and political officer born on May 18, 1928, in Kozach and died on April 22, 2001, in Warsaw. He served as the deputy commander of the Air Defense Forces and as the deputy Chief Inspector of Territorial Defense. Honkisz was active in the political sphere, heading the Personnel Policy Department of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party, and serving as vice president of the Main Board of the League of Defense of the Country. He held a doctorate in humanities.
