Władysława Matuszewska, known as 'druhna Władka', was a Polish educator and scout leader born on November 28, 1908. Before World War II, she led the Łódź District of the Polish Scouting Association. During the Nazi occupation, she was the commander of the Girl Scout Emergency Service in Łódź, aiding prisoners and engaging in secret education in concentration camps. After the war, she founded the 'Wędrowne Ptaki' scouts group in Sweden and later returned to Poland to continue her involvement in scouting, focusing on special needs programs. She passed away in 1999.
