Wolfgang Seeger was a renowned German neurosurgeon born on July 13, 1929, in Nagold. He is best known as one of the founders of micro-neurosurgery. Seeger completed his doctorate in 1955 at the University of Tübingen and became habilitated in 1966 in Gießen. He served as a professor and head of the neurosurgical university clinic at the University of Freiburg. In 2001, he was awarded the Otfrid Foerster Medal and was involved in political activism, supporting the Wahlalternative 2013.
