He began writing at a young age and contributed regularly to the magazine Zeruko Argia. A key figure in the Basque Nueva Canción, he co-founded the group Ez Dok Amairu in 1965, collaborating with notable artists. He published several poems, earning the Euskadi Literature Prize in 2009. Lete was honored as an academic of the Basque Language Academy and continued to create music after the loss of his wife.
