Xu Zhiqiang is a former Chinese gymnast born on March 4, 1963, in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. He joined the People's Liberation Army in 1973 and became a member of the army's gymnastics team. Xu later joined the Chinese national gymnastics team and competed in the 1984 Olympic Games, winning a silver medal in the men's gymnastics team competition. He also participated in the 1988 Summer Olympics but did not win a medal at that event. His contributions to gymnastics have made him a notable figure in Chinese sports.
