In 2019, he became the Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, a position equivalent to a Minister in the state government. He was born in Medarametla, Prakasam District, and is married to Swarnalatha Reddy, related to notable political figures. In 2024, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.
