Yadlapati Venkata Rao (1919–2022) was a prominent Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. Serving as Minister for Agriculture, Law, and Planning from 1978 to 1980, he was elected thrice as an MLA for Vemuru and served as an MP in Rajya Sabha from 1998 to 2004. A lawyer by profession, he started in politics with the Krishikar Lok Party before joining the Swatantra Party and later the Indian National Congress. He founded Sangam Dairy and was instrumental in setting up Jampani Sugar Factory. He joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1988, leading the farmers' division.
