Yahweh ben Yahweh, born Hulon Mitchell Jr. on October 27, 1935, was an American religious leader and founder of the Nation of Yahweh, a black separatist movement based in Florida. He attracted thousands of followers by promoting the idea that Jesus was black and criticized white people as 'white devils' who oppress black individuals. Although he faced federal charges, including racketeering and extortion, he was acquitted on three counts but convicted for conspiracy to commit murder. Yahweh's teachings and activities generated significant controversy and allegations of hate speech.
