Yahya al-Bahrumi, born John Thomas Georgelas, was an American jihadist and Islamic scholar known for his strong support of the Islamic State. After converting to Islam, he mastered Islamic law and classical Arabic, and became a key propaganda producer for ISIL. Al-Bahrumi was close to prominent IS figures, advocating for a global Caliphate while promoting violent ideologies through social media. He believed terrorism was justified by Islamic texts. He reportedly died in 2017 during the Mayadin offensive at the age of 33.
