Yaku Sacha Pérez Guartambel is an Ecuadorian politician and lawyer born on February 26, 1969, in Cachipucara, Cuenca. He served as president of the Confederation of Peoples of the Kichwa Nationality (ECUARUNARI) from 2013 to 2019, advocating for indigenous rights during Rafael Correa's government. In 2017, he became the president of the Andean Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations. Elected as Prefect of Azuay in the 2019 sectional elections, he was also active in protests in October 2019 against Lenín Moreno's administration and was the presidential candidate for Pachakutik in the 2021 elections.
