Yao Mingwei (February 1947 – October 30, 2001) was a Chinese politician, born in Fuping, Hebei Province. He served as the Vice Minister of Mechanical Industry and was a prominent figure in the Chinese political landscape, being the only son of Yao Yilin, a former member of the Politburo Standing Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council. Yao Mingwei played a role in the Chinese government during a period of significant economic reform.
