Yasuhiro Yamashita is a retired Japanese judoka, born on June 1, 1957, in Yamato, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. He is considered one of the greatest judokas in history, winning five gold medals in international competitions and achieving a remarkable record of 203 wins (including 7 draws) before retiring as a competitor on June 17, 1985. After his retirement, he became a coach, working with various judo clubs and organizations. He was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure by Japan on October 9, 1984.
